O problema das Longlists

Louise Doughty, que pertence ao júri do Man Booker Prize, responde às habituais críticas sempre que são anunciados os finalistas dos prémios.

«That pain has got much worse for authors since the advent of longlists. When it was a matter of getting on list of six, you could say to yourself the odds were so against you it wasn't even worth considering - but the longer the list, the greater the implied insult.»

Quebram-se as ilusões e parte do verniz.
